Andie MacDowell biography


Andie MacDowell, Rosalie Anderson MacDowell, born April 21, 1958, is an American actress.

Andie MacDowell was a model in the early 1980s when she debuted in Hugh Hudson's Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984).

In 1989, she made a breakthrough in Steven Soderbergh's sex, lies & videotape (1989) but later switched to roles in more romantic comedies such as Green Card (1990), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), and Unstrung Heroes (1995).

Andie MacDowell has also had character roles in, i.a., Robert Altman's Short Cuts (1993) and Daydream Nation (2010).

In parallel with her film career, she has continued to model, among other things, for the perfume giant L'Oréal.
