Warren Beatty biography 2022
Warren Beatty biography Warren Beatty, born in 1937, was an American actor and director, the brother of actress Shirley MacLaine. Beatty debuted as a young romantic in the James Dean tradition in Splendor in the Grass (1961) but quickly evolved into ambiguous anti-hero portraits, which he plays with a mixture of contact-seeking charm, ironic distance, and traits of childlike insanity, that can turn into psychopathy. This combination is strongly expressed in his productions, such as Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and Bugsy (1992). As a director, he started out with the comedy Heaven Can Wait (1977) and had his breakthrough as a serious filmmaker with Reds (1981) about John Reed. Among his other notable achievements are All Fall Down (1962), Shampoo (1975), and Dick Tracy (1991). last updated October 2022
