Anthony Quinn (Antonio QuiƱones) was born on April 21, 1915, in Chihuahua, Mexico. An actor of Irish-Mexican descent.
Anthony Quinn began his film career in 1936, specializing in roles as fiercely extroverted naturalists, with the title role in Zorba the Greek (1964) as the highlight.
He won Oscars for supporting roles in Viva Zapata! (1952) and as Paul Gauguin in Lust for Life (1956).
Among his other significant roles are the circus artist in Federico Fellini's La Strada (1954) and Quasimodo in Notre Dame de Paris (1956).
