Mads Mikkelsen born November 22, 1965, Østerbro, Copenhagen, Denmark
Mads Mikkelsen is one of Denmark's most contemporary actors. He was educated at Aarhus Theater School but spent eight years as a professional dancer before becoming a full-time actor.
Mads Mikkelsen made his breakthrough in Nicholas Winding Refn's film 'Pusher' (1996), in which he plays the hard-boiled criminal Tonny.
In 2004 came the sequel 'Pusher 2', with Mads Mikkelsen's character in the lead role. He continued his collaboration with Winding Refn in 'Bleeder' (1999) before playing the mighty Arne in the folk film 'Blinkende lygter' (2001). He then switched to slightly lighter roles, as the dream man in 'Mona's World' (2001) and the somewhat confused gay in 'A Short and a Long (2002).
Mads Mikkelsen has also unfolded his comic talent in black comedy films such as The Green Butchers (2003) and Adam's Apples (2006). In addition, he has established a solid international career. In 2004, he starred in King Arthur, starring Clive Owen and Keira Knightley.
