Ulrich Thomsen biography
Ulrich Thomsen born December 6, 1963, Odense, Denmark
The Danish actor broke through in the 90s in Thomas Vinterberg's 'The Greatest Heroes' (1996), for which he was rewarded with a Robert. The awards did not go unnoticed in the future either because, with his starring roles in 'The Party (1998) and 'The Legacy' (2003), he scored twice the Bodil Prize and twice Robert.
In Danish films, he often plays the role of a traumatized and tormented man. Among his most famous Danish films are 'Blinkende lygter' (2000), 'Brødre' (2004), 'Adams æbler' (2005) and 'Hævnen' (2010). When he was young, he worked as a pizza delivery man in Beverly Hills but was later trained as an actor at the Statens Teaterskole in Copenhagen.
Ulrich Thomsen has been assigned somewhat different roles in international films, where he is. Played the villain opposite James Bond in 'The World is Not Enough (1999). Just as he played a Russian security chief in this film, he is seen again in the role of Russian, this time president, in the film 'Hitman' (2007). His appearances in other international productions include films such as 'The Kingdom of Heaven (2005), 'The International' (2009), and 'Duplicity' (2009).
