Ava Gardner was born on December 24, 1922-, an American actress.

Ava Gardner had her breakthrough as the femme fatale in The Killers (1946) and, for the next decade, was the epitome of a beautiful and glamorous movie star in romantic stories.

Later, she filmed scattered and had some good character roles, e.g., in John Huston's The Night of the Iguana (1964).

Died January 25, 1990.
