Bela Lugosi biography

Bela Lugosi (Béla Blasko) was born okcober 20, 1882, Lugoj, Romania.

Hungarian actor. After a theater and film career in Hungary and Germany, Lugosi came to the USA in 1921.

His name is inextricably linked with the role of Dracula, which he played in the theater 1927-29 and in Tod Browning's film Dracula (1931). With his distinctive accent, Lugosi also appeared as a vampire or madman in horror films, some of the latter directed by Ed Wood.

Died August 16, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, USA. He let himself be buried in his Dracula costume.
