Bing Crosby biography
Bing Crosby was born May 3, 1903, in Tacoma, Washington, USA,
In the 1930s and 1940s, Crosby was America's most famous crooner and star of popular comedies and entertainment films, and he remained one of America's best-known entertainers until his death.
The main element in his success was his velvety and, at the same time, full of character and superior musical assurance voice. His best-known number was Irving Berlin's "White Christmas," first performed in 1942 and used in the film of the same name (1954).
Crosby's voice earned him a film role in King of Jazz in 1930, and since then, he has played, among other things, alongside Bob Hope in several comedies. In 1944, he took a leap in his film career when, in an Oscar-winning performance, he played a Catholic priest in Leo McCarey's Going My Way.
Died: October 14, 1977, Golf La Moraleja, Alcobendas, Spain.
