Cindy Margolis was born on October 1, 1968, in Los Angeles, California; she is not only known as the "Queen of the Internet" but also as a talk show host, model, and actress.
It all started when Cindy was working on a project for a business course she was taking. She took her greeting card project idea further and launched her own greeting card line with her as the cover model. Agents started asking about this greeting card cover girl considering the company was a huge success. Cindy began modeling and appeared in advertisements for Reebok, Vidal Sassoon, Coors, Hanes, and Sunkist.
She then moved on to television with appearances in shows such as Married...with Children, Murphy Brown, Baywatch, Baywatch Nights, In the Dark, and Head Over Heels. Her first foray into television was as a Barker Beauty, a hostess on the game show The Price Is Right.
Her popularity on the Internet started when she appeared on Extra in 1995. Since then, she has been named Yahoo Internet Life magazine's "Queen of the Internet" from 1996 to 1999. She has been downloaded over 58 million times and recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records 2000 Millennium Issue for being downloaded 70,000 times in 24 hours. For her reign in the cyber world, Cindy will be featured in the New Ripley's Believe It or Not museums.
Her success has extended far beyond cyberspace. Moviegoers remember her as the five-bot in the 1997 blockbuster Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, the only reason eyes strayed from Elizabeth Hurley in a leather catsuit! She was chairman of the board, starring Carrot Top and Raquel Welch.
Her reign as the "Queen of the Internet" began when Warner Brothers' Extra featured a television segment on Cindy. Viewers could go online to see some of Cindy's most famous posters.
After the massive recognition of the successful model, Cindy participated in live chats on Extra Online and began hosting her own show in cyberspace, Cindy's World. The Internet show allows " audiences to interact with celebrity guests and watch video clips.
With her immense popularity among cyberspace and television audiences, she is also the star of The Cindy Margolis Show, which takes viewers to South Beach, Miami, for late-night beach parties. This year she will also host and produce In Your Dreams with Cindy Margolis, a series of specials on E!.
No stranger to television audiences, Cindy achieved huge ratings for three different networks when she appeared on Pensacola Wings of Gold, Howard Stern, Roseanne, and Politically Incorrect. Her television appearance on Howard Stern gave the late-night Shock Jock his highest ratings.
Frequently featured as America Online's Top Internet Star, one of People magazine's 50 Beautiful People in 1998, Details Magazine's Sexiest Woman of the Year in 1999, and one of Forbes' Top 100 Celebrities in 1999 and 2000, Cindy also holds the title as the wife of Guy Starkman.
