Clark Gable was born on February 1, 1901. American actor.

Clark Gable was Hollywood's most popular star in the 1930s, where his devilish demeanor and virile charm represented a romantic ideal of the Depression-era hero.

Gable's character was established in Frank Capra's It Happened One Night (1934) and culminated in the role of Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind (1939).

After World War II, his type and acting style could seem outdated compared to new actors such as Marlon Brando, but Clark Gable retained his authority in films such as Mogambo (1953) and The Misfits (1960).
