Actor Danny DeVito

Danny DeVito biography

Danny DeVito is an American actor. Danny DeVito got his first significant film role in MiloŇ° Forman's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975), one of the pivotal films of the 1970s, but a real breakthrough came only with the TV series Taxi (1978-1983).

The role of the choleric boss in Taxi secured Danny DeVito a series of significant film roles.

All of these played on his short stature (152 cm) and sharp lines, including the adventure comedy Romancing the Stone (1984) and Batman Returns back (1992).

He has since been a regular supporting actor in Hollywood, for example, in getting Shorty (1995), L.A. Confidential (1997), and Big Fish (2003). He also made his mark in the television world in the comedy program Saturday Night Live from 1980-1987 and the series It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (2006-2010).

As a director, Danny DeVito has, among other things, been behind War of the Roses (1989) and the large-scale drama Hoffa (1992) about the American trade unionist Jimmy Hoffa and his disappearance.
