Eddie Murphy biography


Eddie Murphy began as a fast-talking and provocative stand-up comedian and found great success on Saturday Night Live's TV show (1981-84).

His individual stand-up skills are also documented in the two TV shows Eddie Murphy Delirious (1983) and Eddie Murphy Raw (1987).

He continued the type in the action comedies 48HRS. (1982, 48 hours) and the sequel Another 48 hrs. (1990) as well as Beverly Hills Cop (1984) with two sequels and had one of his best roles in Trading Places (1983).

Eddie Murphy has also cultivated his masking talent in Coming to America (1988) and The Nutty Professor (1996, The Nutty Professor, sequel 2000). With i.a. the latter, he has cultivated a more family-friendly image.

He successfully voiced the donkey in the animated film Shrek (2001, continued in 2004 and 2007) and was surprised with a character role in the musical Dreamgirls (2006).
