Hilary Swank (Hilary Ann Swank) was born July 30, 1974, in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA.
After several minor films and TV roles, i.a., in Beverly Hills 90210 1997-98, Hilary Swank had her breakthrough in Boys Don't Cry (1999) as a young woman who pretends to be a man.
The role brought her an Oscar, and after several significant functions, e.g., Insomnia (2002) and The Core (2003), she won another Oscar for her performance as a female boxer in Clint Eastwood's boxing drama Million Dollar Baby (2004).
She has also played in, among other things, The Black Dahlia (2006), based on James Ellroy's novel, and portrayed aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart in Amelia (2009).
