Jon Voight (Jonathan Vincent Voight) was born December 29, 1938, American actor and father of Angelina Jolie.
Jon Voight had his breakthrough in Midnight Cowboy (1969). He played more complex characters in Deliverance (1972), as the returning Vietnam War veteran in Hal Ashby's Coming Home (1978), who gave him an Oscar, and in Franco Zeffirelli's The Champ (1979). He also showed his worth in more action-oriented roles like Runaway Train (1985).
As a middle-aged Jon Voight has had many central supporting roles, often with more demonic aspects, for example, in Michael Mann's Heat (1995), Mission Impossible (1996), The Rainmaker (1997), National Treasure (2004, continued 2007) and Transformers (2007). He is made up beyond recognition in his supporting role in Michael Mann's Ali (2001).
On TV, Jon Voight has had roles in the series 24 (2009, 24 hours) and Lone Star (2010).
