Kate Beckinsale was born on July 26, 1973, in Chiswick, London, United Kingdom.
She is best known for her roles in Pearl Harbor and Underworld.
Even though both parents were actors, Kate Beckinsale chose to study French and Russian literature at the University of Oxford. However, she still desired to become an actress, and alongside her studies, she got a role in Much Ado About Nothing (1993).
As she was offered more and more roles, she dropped out of university and focused on film roles. A sage move for after participating in, among other things, 'Shooting Fish' (1997), she got the female lead in the mammoth production 'Pearl Harbor' (2001). Although the war drama partially flopped, the British brunette made a name for herself. It has since become the debatable vampire films Underworld' (2003) and 'Van Helsing' (2004) but also a faithful copy of Ava Gardner in 'The Aviator' (2004).
