Kurt Russell (Kurt Vogel Russell) was born on March 17, 1951.

After child and youth roles for The Walt Disney, Kurt Russell had his breakthrough as Elvis Presley in John Carpenter's (January 16, 1948) television portrait film Elvis (1979).

Since then, Kurt Russell has been used as a romantic hero with sharp edges or as a pure action hero in genre films such as John Carpenter's Escape from New York City (1981), Mike Nichols' Silkwood (1983), Tequila Sunrise (1988), Unlawful Entry (1992), the western Tombstone (1993) in the role of Wyatt Earp and Breakdown (1997).

In 2007, he made a minor comeback in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof (2007).
