Tim Robbins, born in 1958, was an American film actor and director; who married Susan Sarandon from 1986-2009.
With his star status in the 1990s, Tim Robbins has specialized in seemingly sane types who alternate between the gullible and the suddenly violent, e.g., in Bull Durham (1988), Cadillac Man (1990), The Player (1992) and The Shawshank Redemption (1994).
As a director, he has cultivated the political satire in Bob Roberts (1992) and the emotional melodrama in the death penalty film Dead Man Walking (1995). He won an Oscar for Clint Eastwood's Mystic River (2003).
