Charles Boyer biography


Charles Boyer, 1899-1978, French-American actor.

Boyer was very successful as a romantic lover and sometimes unreliable lifer in 1930s and 1940s Hollywood, where he rose to stardom after ten years in French theater and film.

Among his most famous films were Mayerling (1935), The Garden of Allah (1936), Conquest (1937), and Gaslight (1944).

As an older man, he had renewed success in television, i.a., in the series The Rogues (1964-65).
