Christopher Plummer biography


Christopher Plummer (Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer) was born December 13, 1929, in Toronto, Canada. He was a Canadian actor with a varied international career.

Christopher Plummer played i.a., Baron von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1965), an ironic double agent in Triple Cross (1966), Kipling in The Man Who Would Be King (1975), a bank robber in the Canadian version of Think of a Number, The Silent Partner (1978) and the polished villain in Eyewitness (1989).

At 82, Plummer got his first Oscar for Beginners (2011). In 2017, he played billionaire J. Paul Getty in All the Money in the World.

Christopher Plummer made a name for himself in the theater as a Shakespearean interpreter and, in 1964, played Hamlet in the BBC's and DR's television version, recorded at Kronborg.


Died February 5, 2021, in Weston, Connecticut, USA.
