Julie Andrews biography

Julie Andrews, born in 1935, was an English actress and singer. She was Eliza in the original production of My Fair Lady in 1956 on Broadway. Became world famous with two musical roles in film, partly as the lovable governess in Mary Poppins (1964) and partly as the sweet and more down-to-earth governess in The Sound of Music (1965).

After several unsuccessful attempts to change her beautiful image, in the 1980s, she won a particular reputation as a comedienne, among other things, in her husband Blake Edwards' film about gender confusion and entanglements, Victor/Victoria (1982).
