Kathleen Turner (Mary Kathleen Turner) was born June 19, 1954, and is an American film actress.
Kathleen Turner established herself in the 1980s in sensual-erotic or comedic roles in classic genre films, e.g., in Lawrence Kasdan's film noir Body Heat (1981), the adventure comedy Romancing the Stone (1984), the black comedy The War of the Roses (1989), and is primarily remembered in Francis Ford Coppola's Peggy Sue Got Married (1986).
In V.I. Warshawski (1991), based on Sara Paretsky's crime novels, Kathleen Turner cultivated her image as an independent woman who takes matters into her own hands.
After a series of weaker roles, she appeared again in Sofia Coppola's feature film debut, The Virgin Suicides (1999), and has since i.a. seen as a feature in various TV series, including Californication 2009.
