Robert Redford was born on August 18, 1936.
He was an American film actor and director.
Robert Redford has switched between romantic roles in, for example, The Way We Were (1973), Out of Africa (1985), Up Close & Personal (1996), and The Horse Whisperer (1998), which he also directed, and critically drew hero characters in Downhill Racer (1969), The Candidate (1972), Three Days of the Condor (1975), The Natural (1984) and Spy Game (2001).
Among Redford's most famous films are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), which gave him star status, The Sting (1973), and All the President's Men (1976).
Robert Redford made his debut as a director with Ordinary People (1980), which won him an Oscar, and also has, among other things, made A River Runs Through It (1992) and Quiz Show (1994). Redford founded the Sundance Film Institute in 1981.
