He is an American actor, film director, and Oscar-nominated producer. He is best known for the roles of; Mikey Walsh in The Goonies, the title character in Rudy, Samvis Gammegod in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, and Lynn McGill in the fifth season of the TV series 24 Hours.
