Woody Allen biography

Woody Allen was born December 1, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, USA.

Hyperactive director, actor, and screenwriter whose films almost always take place in New York. Woody Allen was born Allen Konigsberg, who, as a 15-year-old, wrote catchy headlines for the newspapers.

Otherwise, he did stand up and create the self-effacing humor that characterizes his films. He was hired as a screenwriter for 'What's New, Pussycat' (1965), and the following year he directed his first film, 'What's Up, Tiger Lily?' (1966). Since then, he has produced over 40 films, and in many, he plays the lead role of a neurotic man in crisis.

The biggest successes are the Oscar winners Annie Hall' (1977) and 'Manhattan' (1979), as well as the more serious 'Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) and 'Husbands and Wives (1992).

However, many people have their favorite Woody Allen films and plenty to choose from. Woody Allen became disabled when he married his adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, in 1997, and he has since been ignored by Hollywood.

However, Allen has settled well in Europe, where his popularity has always been high. Both 'Match Point,' 'Scoop,' Vicki Cristina Barcelona,' 'Midnight in Paris' and 'Blue Jasmine' were well received by the audience.
