Alan Alda, the film director Alphonso Joseph D'Abruzzo, was born on January 28, 1936.

Alan Alda gained international fame in the role of Hawkeye Pierce in the TV series M * A * S * H ​​(1972-83), for which he also wrote and directed several episodes.
