Biography of Geena Davis
Geena Davis (Virginia Elizabeth Davis) was born on January 1, 1956. Geena Divis made her debut in Tootsie (1982) and in films such as David Cronenberg's The Fly (1986) and Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988), showing delicate tact with a sense of both melancholy, sweetness, and absurd humor.
She then shone opposite William Hurt in The Accidental Tourist (1988) in a psychological character role for which she won an Oscar.
Geena Davis has become primarily known for her female initiative characters in Ridley Scott's women's film Thelma & Louise (1991) as well as the pirate film Cutthroat Island (1995) and the action film The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996), both directed by her former husband, Renny Harlin.
On TV, Geena Davis has, among other things, had his own TV show, The Geena Davis Show (2000-01), and played the President of the USA in the series Commander in Chief (2005-06).
