Melanie C biography

Melanie C, aka Melanie Jayne Chisholm (born 12 January 1974), is a British pop singer. She was a member of the pop group Spice Girls member until 2000 and is now a solo artist.

In 1994 Melanie C started the group Spice Girls with Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Victoria Adams & Geri Halliwell. Their solo career began in 1998 with the duet «When You're Gone» together with the Canadian rock artist Bryan Adams. This was followed by the critically acclaimed album Northern Star in 1999, with hit singles such as Northern Star, I Turn to You, and Never Be the Same Again. The album has sold 3 million copies worldwide.

After breaking up with the Spice Girls, Melanie's second album, Reason, was released in February 2003. It was not very well received by critics nor made it high on the charts due to poor sales.

In 2004, she started her own record label, Red Girl Records, and in April 2005, her third album was released under the title Beautiful Intentions. The album was uniformly well-received, and the first single, «Next Best Superstar,» did well in the charts.

Melanie C was called Sporty Spice in the Spice Girls and is a big fan of Liverpool F.C.
