Bryan Guy Adams (born November 5, 1959, in Kingston, Ontario) is a Canadian singer, guitarist, and composer.

Bryan Adams made his recording debut in 1980 with the album Bryan Adams, but his breakthrough did not come until 1983 with the third album, Cuts Like a Knife, which sold platinum in the United States. Even greater success was achieved by his next album, Reckless from 1984, which included featured the hits "Run to You," "Heaven," and "Summer of '69".

In 1991, Adams released the single "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You," his biggest hit in sales. The single was number one for 17 weeks on the US sales chart, 16 weeks on the UK, and 39 weeks on the Canadian chart. The single thus broke the record for the most extended number-one position on all three graphs. The song was also the theme song for the film Robin Hood. Later in the year, the song was released on Adams' sixth studio album, Waking Up the Neighbours, which also featured the number one single "Can't Stop This Thing We Started."

Bryan Adams continued to make film scores. In 1993 he recorded with Rod Stewart and Sting the theme song for The Three Musketeers, "All For Love," and in 1996, "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?" was the theme song for Don Juan DeMarco, both number one - singles in the US. In total, Bryan Adams' songs have been used in 19 feature films.

In 1996, Adams' seventh studio album, 18 for I Die, was released, giving him a few minor hits. In 1997 he got a night on MTV Unplugged, which was later released as a record.

In 1998, together with Melanie C (from the Spice Girls), he had a hit with the song "When You're Gone." In 2005, he re-recorded the song with Pamela Anderson. The re-recording occurred with the release of Adams' compilation album Anthology.

In addition, Bryan Adams has recorded duets with Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Chicane, and Bonnie Raitt. Bryan Adams also joined on guitar and vocals on the tracks "Empty Spaces" and "Young Lust" as Roger Waters assembled a larger crowd of celebrities for a historic set of The Wall in Berlin in 1990.

Over 55 million albums sold, Bryan Adams is Canada's best-selling male solo artist.
