Dorothy Lamour (Dorothy Kaumeyer), 1914-1996, American actress.
The former Miss New Orleans (1931) became a movie star as a dark-skinned South Sea island heroine in films such as The Jungle Princess (1936) but gained particular popularity parodies of the type in a series of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby comedies with Road to Singapore (1940) as the first.
Later, Dorothy Lamour was a frequent singing guest star on Bob Hope's television shows.
