Connie Nielsen biography

Connie Nielsen was born in Elling, Jylland, Denmark.

She lived with her family in a small seaside village from age ten. Experiencing acting for the first time when she was fifteen, Connie Nielsen took part in a cabaret written by her mother.

At 18, Connie Nielsen flew the best and traveled the world, studying in Paris, Rome, and Milano, ending up in Italy after her travels.

On winning a part in an American movie, Voyage (1993), which was critically savaged, she was advised to make a move in the Western direction, America.

Though Connie Nielsen's debut flopped, Nielsen's appearance in the movie was received well, enabling Connie Nielsen to succeed in her chosen career.

Connie acted upon the advice of a producer she had met in an audition. His advice led Connie to set up a home in the USA.

After Voyage, she was cast in the big-budget The Devil's Advocate. Since working with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves, she has appeared opposite Kurt Russell in Soldier, Russell Crowe in Gladiator, and Bill Murray in the fantastic Rushmore.

Her following few projects also place her with some familiar names, including Robin Williams in One Hour Photo, Tommy Lee Jones in 2003's The Hunted, and John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson reuniting in Basic.
